The Heart Behind SHE IS STILL
I didn’t start as a coach. I was an athlete who set high goals.
After winning NBC’s Scouting Camp: The Next Olympic Hopeful, I began training in sprint kayak with one goal: make Team USA. Just six months into the sport, I earned my first spot on USA Canoe/Kayak in 2018. By 2021, I was competing internationally at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Hungary. Due to Olympic allocation changes that year, I watched my Olympic dream slip away as I crossed the finish line.
Although I wasn’t an Olympian, I gained a new title 2 weeks later; wife.
Then, a year into retirement, motherhood changed everything.
During my first pregnancy, I developed preeclampsia and was not cleared to train. I gained 100 pounds. For someone whose identity had always been rooted in performance and strength, it was disorienting. I didn’t recognize my body. I didn’t feel like myself. There was a war on my mind.
But rebuilding is something I understand.
After giving birth, I lost 70 pounds and returned to competition, earning 2nd place in two events at Sprint Kayak Nationals. Soon after, I became pregnant again, gained 70 pounds, and again faced preeclampsia.
Today, I am back at a healthy weight - but more importantly, I am rebuilding with a new perspective. Not chasing a version of who I was, but stepping into who I am now: still an athlete & now a mama.
My journey is why I created SHE IS STILL (SIS) - because you are still strong, still capable, still becoming… even in seasons that feel unfamiliar.
From navigating identity loss.
From learning how to train differently.
From understanding that strength after motherhood requires strategy, grace, and mental resilience.
It is my passion to help pre and postpartum women rebuild their bodies and minds safely, sustainably, and confidently - without extremes or pressure.
Because you don’t need to “bounce back.”
You just need help to rebuild forward.
& that’s why I’m here.
